Onion Recipes For Sleep

The natural remedies are getting weirder and weirder folks.

As we all continue to be different individuals with different reactions to certain substances, along with
having insomnia, it is no wonder that there are so many different things to try that could quite possibly help you get the rest you need.

So yes, onions; I personally had never heard of this sleep remedy before but apparently there is a
woman on the internet that has and says it works for her.

Here is some more information on that:

“All in all, though, this is a pretty simple homemade sleeping aid.

The only things you need is an onion and a glass jar with a lid.

Dice an onion and put it in a jelly jar or any small jar with a tight-fitting lid.

Before you go to bed, open it up and smell it for five minutes.

Keep the sealed jar beside your bed.

If you wake up in the middle of the night, open the jar and inhale the onion fumes for another five minutes.

Do onions make you sleepy? Well, yes, they actually do. But you’d be better off eating them than smelling them.

Onions contain tryptophan, that lovely amino acid that converts into serotonin, one of two powerful sleep hormones.

Still, some people swear by sniffing onions.

It’s worth a shot if you’re having trouble sleeping, and your partner would probably prefer the sniff method anyway.

No smelly smooches”

“For another version of the onion cure, dice a medium sized onion into very fine pieces.

Boil one liter of water in a pan, remove from heat, and put the diced onion pieces into the boiling water.

Let the mixture steep for about five minutes, until the water has cooled.

Add five drops of honey to one teaspoon of the onion water and drink this mixture.

The onion water mixed with honey should help you fall asleep faster.

You may store the onion water in the refrigerator for use the next
few nights”

I am sure this is the simplest yet kind of smelly (unless you really adore the smell of onions in the middle of the night or even before bed) remedy so far that I have seen.

You can buy onions at any grocery store or 99 cents store that sells fresh vegetables, but you probably already knew that.

Anyways, if this remedy helps you out, you should pass on the information to someone else who needs it as well.

Happy experimenting!
